Moving!

After 4 years of apartment living, Jamie and I are finally moving to a house! I'm so excited about it that I can hardly sit still! We pick up the keys and start moving tomorrow! It's a cute little Cape Cod, 3 1/2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a huge basement for my office and work space, a wooden deck off the back... I have big ideas for decorating inside, so we'll post more pictures as we get moved in and settled.

Update on my Mom

I posted first about Mom's cancer back in January. That seems like so long ago, and yet we're still going down that road. There is light at the end of the tunnel though....

Her radiation is complete, her last chemo treatment is coming up, and her first CT scan was clear, so this is all good news. Once she's done with the chemo, there are 2 surgeries she will have to undergo -- one to remove scar tissue and fix the wound that has been open on her stomach for almost a year now (since the hysterectomy in Oct '08 -it never healed because of the chemo and radiation), and another surgery to fix an abdominal hernia that apparently happened sometime during this whole process. After that, the long hard part will be over.

Thanks to those family and friends who have showed their support and offered prayers. I have been struggling in agony for the past year because I couldn't be there with her through the whole process, but I know the prayers helped both of us to be strong and get through it.

She and I will be working on a website together, sort of an informational and inspirational website for others with cancer, specifically endometrial cancer. I will share that once we get it up and running. She even had some photos taken during this time, thanks to the a photographer and makeup artist who gave their time. This is one of my favorites. :)

I recently met Terra through my assistant, Noelle. She is a fabulous photographer, and we worked together on a wedding this year. Our personalities really seem to blend well, and we have a lot of fun together! So, when I wanted some business headshots taken downtown, I went straight to her. She invited her boyfriend, and I invited Jamie, and we all met downtown to take the pictures. Afterwards, we had dinner at Winking Lizard and did a bit of bar-hopping. It was a really fun night, and we got these great pictures to remember it by!

I Forgot!

I started this blog back when I was in Dallas. It was my intention to use it to share info with friends and family about.....well, friends and family. I have a blog for my business and really enjoy it a lot, so I decided that I wanted a seperate one for personal use.

Well, things were so busy while I was down in Dallas (and not to mention, my short lived addiction to this weird little game called Animal Crossing City Folk), that I didn't spend as much time at my laptop as I thought I would. Therefore, the blog was forgotten....literally....until recently. I had to do some digging to even remember which email and password I used....but I'm finally back in!
